AIGAS
Platform & Bronze assurance journeyGive AI oversight a place in the working day.
A public website and governance application connecting an accounting firm’s AI register, supporting evidence and preparation with a separate assessor’s review.
01 / The business behind the work
From a standard to something a firm can work through.
Accounting firms need to understand which AI tools they use and how those tools are overseen. An assurance process also needs more than a completed form: there must be room for supporting material, review and a clear account of who makes the assessment.
BTR’s AIGAS work spans the governance proposition, website and application. The public website explains the standard and its assurance pathway; the application connects those requirements to the everyday actions a firm and its assessor need to take.
02 / The work in practice
Preparation and judgement have different jobs.
Firms build their register, prepare responses and attach notes and evidence. Assessors have a separate scoring workflow. That separation is an important service-design choice: showing that a submission is complete should not suggest that the firm has scored itself or predict a pass.
Membership roles and payment entitlements shape access to the assessment journey. Certificate status then provides a further part of the experience, with active, expiring, expired and revoked states rather than one permanent badge.
How the pieces connect
A useful path through the work.
- 01
Prepare
A firm records its AI use and brings the supporting evidence together.
- 02
Assess
An assessor reviews the submission through a separate workflow.
- 03
Maintain
Certificate status communicates the stage of the assurance lifecycle.
A simplified explanation of the work. This is not an application screen or a depiction of customer records.
Access & accountability
Where control matters.
Firm preparation and assessor scoring are separate responsibilities. Completing a submission does not predict a pass.
The commercial purpose
Why it is worth building.
Make governance requirements understandable and workable for the firms and assessors using the service.
