UKOPRA / Website & platform
A whole sport, connected.
A public home for offshore powerboat racing, connected to the work of entering, organising and running it, with information that people and AI assistants can find their way through.

01 / The business behind the work
There is a lot to connect before a boat reaches the start line.
For the United Kingdom Offshore Powerboat Racing Association, putting a race on the water means bringing competitors, boats, licences, event entries and officials together. Much of that administration had been spread across paper, spreadsheets and email. The challenge was to give the people doing the work a connected place to manage it, while giving the sport a public presence worth exploring.
We built the association an operating platform shaped around its rules and the people responsible for applying them. Guided competitor journeys connect registration, licences and entries with administrative reviews, payments and published results.

02 / The work in practice
Ready for the way people are starting to find things.
A visitor might arrive through a search engine, a shared result or a question asked of an AI assistant. UKOPRA’s content includes a machine-readable guide and detailed reference articles, giving assistants a route into the association’s own information about racing, classes and getting involved.
The platform source also includes authenticated, team-scoped interfaces for connected tools. Public discovery and access to operational data have different boundaries: making the sport easier to understand does not mean making a competitor’s records public.
How the pieces connect
The public story meets the everyday work.
- 01

Boat profiles, classes, racing information and reference articles.
- 02
Prepare to race
Registration, licence applications and the association’s reviews.
- 03
Enter an event
Entries, payments and reconciliation in the operating journey.
- 04

A simplified explanation of the work. This is not an application screen or a depiction of customer records.
Access & accountability
Where control matters.
Different roles for competitors and administrators, with team-scoped API access in the implementation. Public information has a separate path from private operational records.
The commercial purpose
Why it is worth building.
Make the sport easier to discover and follow, while giving the people running it connected tools for the work behind race day.
